The Spectrum of Health with Dr. Christine Schaffner

Aug 12, 2021

We all know the old saying, “You are what you eat!” The same can be said for the soil that our food grows in.

Soil has a considerable effect on our health. Soil is an important source of nutrients in our food supply. However, nutrient imbalances and toxicity in the health of the soil can cause negative effects on health.

In this episode of the Spectrum of Health Podcast, Dr. Christine Schaffner sits down with Sara Keough to discuss the environmental conservation of our food sources, and more specifically our meat sources. Sara Keough MS, CNS, LDN originally began her career working in environmental conservation but now supports patients as a functional nutritionist in her Eco-Nutrition practice.

Her profound appreciation for how natural, ecological systems function has helped her to embrace the vitally important connection between soil health and human health. Sara has a comprehensive understanding of the health benefits of consuming foods with high nutrient density and how to help clients restore and re-wild their microbiomes.

Sara Keough is passionate about connecting our farming communities with the healthcare community, as she truly believes that regenerative farmers are healers of the planet and play a pivotal role in restoring human and ecological health.
